I believe that many of you that saw the last post did not vote…how do I know this, you may ask…well let me tell you. There are only 3 votes as you can see, AND more people than that have told me they saw the pictures! I need help people! We like them all and need a public opinion. Its a tie between three right now. Give us hand and let us know which one you like best. 🙂
Monthly Archives: September 2009
Well actually busy last week for us, but slow on the posting. This week contains Hubby’s birthday (Yay!), a huge crazy consignment sale that I did brave today and found many treasures, a end of the summer photo shoot with Little Man, (disastrous… good thing I salvaged a couple great shots), and much much more. For now, I will leave you with a few pictures of my little crazy boy. Thinking about ordering wallets of these and giving them to friends and family. Do people still do that? If so, which do you recommend? I will number them for easy of voting…oh I know!!! Lets do a poll!
You can click on the pictures to see a bigger version.
Now keep in mind, you probably will be a lucky recipient of one of these pictures if/when they would be printed off so choose wisely. 🙂
For those of you who weren’t able to see the video I posted today, try it again. Let me know if it still isn’t working.
So several of you have asked me to share different things on our blog which I am more than happy to do, however I have struggled finding how to post these things (seemingly random to those who did not ask for them, that is) . I have seen other blogs have cute little themed days every week like “Not Me Mondays” or “Works For Me Wednesdays”. So here we go…are you ready for this?
I present to you, You Asked For It Friday.
Is this cheesy? Yes. Am I ridiculous for doing this? Oh I am certainly sure I am. Do I mind that in doing this I reveal to you that I am both cheesy and ridiculous? Not in the slightest 🙂 So ask away! And I will do my best to post the answers to your questions. You can email them to me, call me, tell me in person ,or leave a comment on this post. For every question that is asked there will be a Friday to share it. From recipes to crafts, meal planning to what we believe is the purpose of our family, our faith to family traditions, the floor is open.
And for our first You Asked For It Friday, I will be sharing…[Drumroll please]… pictures of our new place!
Here is is. Our two bedroom town house. The picture is a little off center so that you can see the little grassy yard we have to the left. It even has a few pieces of playground equipment on it as well as a (somewhat sad looking) picnic table. Hubby and I have toyed with the idea of fixing it all up for us as well as the rest of the tenants to use. This little outdoor spot is that which Isaac begs to play in by attempting to put on his shoes by himself and pointing to the front door.
View from the front door:
Downstairs is a half bath to the left of where I am standing taking the picture, the stairs to the right, the dining area ahead on the left and the kitchen to the right of that, and the family room straight ahead complete with a fireplace! It adds such a homey feel! I love it!
Above is a look to the left and a look to the right from the front door step.
Here’s a picture of our little yet efficient kitchen, and we all know how I love efficiency! (Seriously I do!) I thought the small size would drive me crazy but I think I really have grown to like it!
Below is a picture of my favorite part of our new home, the fireplace! I can hardly wait for it to get cold so we can build a beautiful relaxing fire. Yippy! Little Man is just as excited as I am, as you can see.
The fireplace hearth was one thing we were not as excited about, as there is much history in both of our families of babies falling and getting pretty bad bonks on the head from the stony edges. Solution? My first attempt at quilting. Oh yes, Hubby taped a foam pool noodle over the sharp edge and I made a cushy quilted slip cover for the hearth to cover the neon blue noodle. I am pretty happy with the results if I do say so myself. A fun little project for me too.
Below is another picture of our living room and a picture of the view from our living room onto our back porch. Its very secluded and woodsy feeling, like we have our own little back yard.
Here is a view from the landing in the middle of the stairs looking into the hallway.
(Please make sure to note the cuddly baby boy in his PJ’s.)
To the immediate left at the top of the stairs is the door to Little Man’s room. Beyond that on the left before the master bed room is the large closet containing the washer and dryer which I LOVE having upstairs. Vvvonderful!
Two views of the master bedroom: One from the doorway and one perched on top of the red chair you see in the corner. The door you see on the left of the bed in the right picture is the door to the bathroom. The bathroom connects the two bedrooms. I’m not too fond of this feature as it makes taking showers in the morning when Little Man is still sleeping next to impossible. We’re still trying to figure out the details of how to make this work. Little Man however, LOVES to run laps around the upstairs.
(When looking at this picture you may say to yourself, “Hmm…wow…look at those nightstands. They are marvelous! What a perfect fit! Where could I find a pair of stylish tables like that?” Then I would answer you saying, “Well I must apologize because you see, my incredibly talented husband custom made them out of our old coffee table, so although I would have to agree that they are the most marvelous night stands out there, you will not be able to find them in stores.) 🙂
Picture of the upstairs bathroom. Opposite of these mirrors is a little room that holds the shower and toilet. It does have a door so that helps to muffle the sound of the shower in the morning a bit.
Walk through the bathroom into Little Man’s room and this is what you’ll see. Still needing to hand his decor on the walls as well as figure out how to keep out the blazing sunlight that enters this room at dawn in a more stylish way that this dark bed sheet…don’t judge me. 🙂
Here’s a few more views of Little Man’s room:
Above is the view from Little Man’s room, through the bathroom to our bedroom.
Back out into the hallway via the door on the left and that completes Little Man’s running track as well as this first You asked for it Friday! To many this may have been the most boring post ever and to you I do apologize, but keep in mind…You Asked For It. 🙂
Not that they were ever looking down! A little over one month officially in Huntsville and we couldn’t be more at peace and surprised at how quickly its become home. I guess we’re given the very measure of grace from God needed in each situation to get us where we need to be. And that is just where we are. Hubby is enjoying his job and is looking forward to getting going on some big projects. Little Man doesn’t seem to notice that we’ve moved to an entirely different state. He’s talking up a storm! His favorite words are “No…” (typical toddlerhood) and “Dada” (which refers to both Hubby and myself). His extended vocabulary includes the following:
-Dog which he says by saying “Woof Woof!”
-Cheese, shoes, and keys, which all sound like “eeesh” and can be quite confusing.
-Hi and bye which both are paired with a cute wave and a high pitch “Eye” sound.
So much more but I will not bore you any longer. I do however hope to post a video with his baby chatter sometime soon.
And me? Well, I’m doing good. No complaints here. Still trying to get used to not being around people as much. This has been the biggest change for me believe it or not. Making some friends in the church we’re going to here, Sojourn. This morning I went to a ladies bible study with the church and with them out to lunch afterward. A much needed time out. I feel very fueled after it. And pretty much, doing well! Thanks for everyone’s support and encouragement to our family over the last few months. Thanks for the cards, emails and phone calls to check up. We appreciate it! Love you guys!
…there’s nothing I like better than a good cup-a-joe.
Make sure to sing that title in tune with the theme song from Popeye the Sailor Man.
Thought you all may like to see Little Man at sea. His first boat ride might I add!

Well, we took a little bloggy break and now we’re back. Busy week last week…and LOTS of fun pictures to share. Hubby and I did celebrate our 3 year anniversary and it was wonderfully complete with: a sushi dinner at a local Huntsville restaurant that we now LOVE, and a movie, Julie and Julia…super cute and highly recommended by us. Labor Day weekend was fun as well. We got to visit with Hubby’s sister, Annette who was in town and take a ride on Grandpa Robinson’s sail boat…Little Man’s 1st boat ride. He loved it. He did not however love his little life jacket…pictures to follow.
ALSO…many of you…ok all of you…know that I have previously been what some may call a “pack-rat”. I would have called it being prepared… But these days are over! I have recently decided to make a change and over the last year have been cleaning out, reorganizing and simplifying and oh the joys I could sing about simplifying my home! Its a good thing I was prompted to make this change considering our very quick move to AL. Somehow we still ended up with so many things that we just aren’t using. Soooo, we are having a yard sale!! Wahoo! I love this kind of stuff and I love organizing events…I am such a dork, but if you are reading this blog than you love us and you don’t care so why not be real right? So the big day is Sept. 26th. If you happen to be passing through feel free to stop by and snag you some good deals!
Thats all for now. I will leave you with a little picture to wet your appetite for the silly/cute pictures to come.
Please take note of Little Man’s super squished cheek, his strong desire to escape from his crazy parents grasp and my Captain’s hat…yes.
Yep, its Hubby and my 3 year Anniversary! Wow how time has flown, and wow how much has happened in three years! Now you KNOW I couldn’t miss this opportunity to take a little stroll down memory lane. Will you join me?
Where it all began, our engagement day:
–> He caught me WAY off guard when he set up a fake meeting with a older couple that we went to church with. When I showed up there by myself and the wife of the couple asked me to go have a seat downstairs, I looked and saw rose petals leading the way to an unknown surprise…I thought, either I’m getting ready to be proposed to or this couple is REALLY weird and I need to get out ASAP! Of course you know the ending, it was my future husband. He told me he loved me for the first time and asked me if I’d spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I told him yes, it would be my honor. And what an honor and privilege it has been!
Our Wedding Day:
And a funny one…I just love this picture. I think it captures how our personalities mesh.
(Sorry for the blurriness.)
And our honeymoon in New York New York complete with an unmarked cab ride (Yikes!), Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, Pizza in Soho, visit to Little Italy and Chinatown, Time Square, carriage ride in central park, the Statue of Liberty, MOMA, and so much more. Time of my life with the love of my life…doesn’t get much better than that does it?
And here is a little picture of our first anniversary celebration… eating the year old frozen cake that I happened to think tasted delicious… anyone surprised?? I think not.
I don’t think I have a second anniversary pic…that was still crazy time for us last year with a new little baby boy. But here we are at year 3 and as happy as ever.
Since I am the one typing, I am going to take a minute to say how thankful I am to have my wonderful husband. I don’t know what the rest of the single ladies in the world are going to do cause I was given the best one out there! 🙂 Okay I may be a little partial…but I am entitled to be so! He’s my hubby and my best friend. Him and Little Man are the best gifts that have been given to me in this world after my relationship with God. For them I am so thankful.
Happy Anniversary Babe! I love you!
Here’s to many more!
